What is Neurosurgery?
Neurosurgery is any surgery that involves the spinal cord or peripheral nerves, or nervous system (brain or spine).
Of all the many systems making up the human body, your nervous system is arguably the most vital to your quality of life. If your brain cannot communicate properly with the rest of your body, your health and ability to live a happy life can be terribly compromised.
Fortunately, there are specially-trained physicians skilled in the diagnosis and repair of neurological damage.
When is a Neurosurgeon required?
As a Board Certified Neurosurgeon in Thousand Oaks, California, Dr. Moza is required anytime symptoms are present that effect one’s ability to function normally, with such symptoms as pain and/or weakness with tingling and numbness in the arms or radiating pain down the leg or legs. He should also be consulted anytime one experiences symptoms such as severe (migraine-like) headaches, blurry vision, loss of vision in one eye, confusion, dizziness, vertigo, and sensitivity to light, sounds and smells.
He may also be consulted on an emergency basis, such as needed in the ER of a hospital if a patient is brought in via an Ambulance. If deemed necessary by the ER doctor, Dr. Moza should also be consulted when the patient presents symptoms that effect the nerves or neurological ability.
However, because the scope of his work goes beyond just these symptoms, you can also call Dr. Moza’s office to inquire about your symptoms, and if it would be prudent to schedule an appointment.
